Where to eat on the Vineyard
A small island with disproportionately good seafood, a farm scene that shows up on every menu, and a few classics that are worth the wait. Book ahead in July and August; walk in everywhere else.
Menemsha
The lobster roll dock
Larsen’s Fish Market and The Bite are the two pillars. Pick up before 6:30, bring your own drinks, and eat on the dock as the sun goes down. Cash and a fork help.
Edgartown
Oysters, white tablecloths, and a great burger
The Atlantic Fish & Chop House for a special dinner, Atria for the garden, and the bar at l’etoile for a quieter evening. Book ahead in July.
Oak Bluffs
Circuit Avenue and the harbor
Slice pizza, ice cream after dinner, and a string of harbor seafood spots that handle big groups well. The most walkable food street on the island.
Up-Island Farms
Morning Glory and the farmers’ market
Morning Glory Farm in Edgartown for sandwiches and produce, the West Tisbury farmers’ market on Saturdays for a long, slow morning.
